Helen Jones - England

Helen is a middle-aged lady, her transition is now history, but experience counts.

She has, in the past, been involved with the main UK trans-organisations both as an advisor and a representative. She has now stepped aside to enable others, particularly young trans-people, to tread the ever changing path in dealing with problems of gender and obtaining appropriate counselling and medical treatment.

Nevertheless, she is dedicated to continue to help to provide support and information for all who need it and is privileged to be part of the tzone team.

Ice Maiden - England

An honours degree graduate in Health and Social Welfare. She has heavily researched and written in the area transgender studies. She is a trained counsellor and social worker and has qualified in the following disciplines at university:

Understanding Health and Social Welfare, Community Care, An Aging Society, The study of Death and Dying, Managing roles and relationships, Working with children and families, Critical practice in health and social care (ENB Awards Approved, 8A29 and 8870 Understanding the application of Research), Managing Care.

She has been involved with online transgender mental health for both the Beaumont Society and now the Transgender Zone.

She has recently been awarded full honorary lifetime membership for services to the Beaumont Society.

Katie [aka] Katie_n - England

Katie is a hetrosexual MtF cross-dresser living in the Midlands, UK. She is the Head Moderator for Transgender Zone and is also a member of the Beaumont Society.

For years Katie struggled with guilty feelings about her cross-dressing. She finally accepted herself as a cross-dresser about seven years ago. At that point, the guilt disappeared and she was able to be comfortable with herself and her sexuality. Katie regularly uses local beauty salons, and she is still undergoing a lengthy course of facial hair removal which has included intense pulsed light treatment (Depilite), Laser (ND Yag) and electrolysis. Katie lives with her wife, who is still struggling to accept Katie's cross-dressing. Katie loves to chat to her girly friends at Transgender Zone, and is only too happy to offer advice based on her own experiences.

Andee - USA

Andee lives outside Washington DC with her spouse and two children.

She is a writer for the US weekly e’zine Transgender Forum and she has also written some special articles on her first person transgender experiences

Her interests include travel, reading, aerobic dance, running, swimming, biking and skiing. Andee is on a constant quest to learn, beginning with one of the first computer science programs at the secondary school level in the 1960s, and continuing through BS and MBA programs. She works for a large organization supporting strategic planning for financial and information management systems. She is interested in all the diversity in the gender community, and is an active member of the International Foundation for Gender Education (IFGE), Trans Gender San Francisco (TGSF), and the Trans Gender Education Association (TGEA).

Thefishkeeper - England

Thefishkeeper is the oldest FTM on the forums and proud of it too.

He is a member of the admin and works closely with all the other members of the admin.

After being on Testosterone for two years , he now feels that he is being accepted in the wide world at large as male.

He still finds that his work colleges slip up now and again but does not blame them, as they all knew him before he made the transition and knows it can be difficult for them to remember the male noun all the time. As he gets longer on the Testosterone it should be easier for them.

He is not with out his problems, he still finds that his family will not honour him nor make the effort to acknowledge him as male, but he does not mind, saying that " Families are such strange creature", it's their loss, I am a great brother but made a lousy sister.

He is still a straight male, but has never had a relationship in his new life. There is plenty of time, he says.

His hobbies are bird watching, being a member of the WWT, playing with his Gameboy DS. Watching Cartoons. He keeps a large tank of tropical fish (manly Amazon fish) and has a budgie for company going by the name of Indee.

Amanda aka thedreadpersephone - UK

Amanda is a non-trans woman who lives in Scotland with her FtM Partner, Mike aka Mole. They have been together for nearly four years. Amanda has recently graduated from University with an English Language degree, but is still figuring out what she wants to do with her life.

Amanda is passionate about LGBT rights and animal rights. She identifies as Queer Femme but most people know her as lesbian. She came out when she was 15. Her family and friends are very supportive of her and Mole.

In her spare time Amanda enjoys reading, writing, playing the Playstation, listening to music, going out with friends and spending time with her little brother.'

Michael Ng aka Mole - UK

Mole moved to Brighton from Malaysia in 1997 to start sixth form. It was here he discovered transsexualism. He moved to Glasgow and completed his MBChB in 2003. He is a trainee surgeon.

Between 2002 and 2003, Mole suffered a string of calamities starting with the loss of a family member, dumped by girlfriend No.4 via text a month later, diagnosed with depression, then contracted chicken pox a week later. In the midst of the chaos, he met the woman who would later make him see the benefits of commitment, got a poem published and graduated.

These days, Mole can be seen climbing walls and racing around town in a bicycle. He enjoys a good read, playing his guitars and a challenge.

Robeck - England

Robeck is a 17 year old intersexed transman living somewhere in the mists of the midlands of the UK. He is currently studying Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Psychology at A-level, and intends to go to University to study Chemistry after this. He achieved straight A's at AS-level and is hoping for a similar result at A2.

Robeck's hobbies include Birds of Prey, SCUBA diving, the internet, and sarcasm. He lives with his parents and younger sister. His mother is an Anglican priest, and he was raised into a Christian family, with some religious beliefs of his own. Please don't confuse 'Religious' with 'Crazy fundamentalist'. He's actually a nice guy.

Sparkz - Australia

Sparkz is a young gay transman in his early twenties, living in Queensland, Australia. Spending 21 years being thought of as female has enabled him to learn a lot which he will never forget, but he is extremely happy to now live as male! Sparkz is at uni studying psychology and anthropology, and is a Queer activist whenever he has a moment spare. He hopes to go on to a career in research into gender and sexuality, and he hopes to continue Queering and Queerying academia in ways which bring changes and educate others.

Sparkz has had a rather confusing and unpleasant past due to many things, but he is now doing his best to overcome it and enjoy his life. Sparkz can be seen most happy when he is with his friends, is doing art, or is learning martial arts.

Kelli aka Kellineil, Neil and Fluffy - Scotland

Kelli is a 26 year old genderqueer androgyne who lives in Edinburgh,Scotland. Eir works at an LGBT organisation in the city as an Administrator and is the founder of Polygender Scotland, a social and support group for all gender variant people. Kelli is also a member of a number of groups that aim to increase communication between groups and organisations working with trans people in Scotland

Eir is also the Associates Secretary for Caledonian Thebans RFC - a rugby club that successfully challenged the SRU and IRB to allow trans people to play rugby in teams for their true gender.

Outwith the trans community, Kelli is a member of the Beltane Fire Society and can been seen every April 30th and October 31st strutting eirs stuff with all the other hippies and pagans within the society

At 18 years old William is one of the youngest moderators, but what he lacks in age he certainly makes up for in enthusiasm. Determined and opinionated, he loves a good debate and is very passionate about his beliefs.

In his free time he enjoys music and isn't often seen without his iPod. He loves to socialise, watch movies, draw, and have the odd pint of Magners.

PurplePrincess - England

PurplePrincess aka Chrissy is a 32 year old transwoman living in Bristol who has had some rough times in life but has become a stronger person for it. She has turned things around and is finally doing what she needs to do to live a happy life. She has learned from her past and wants to help others find the right path. She loves to chat and help lift peoples spirits when they are down and is always willing to listen to other peoples problems and help if she can.

Hellfrozeover - Scotland

Hellfrozeover is a young intersexed woman living in Scotland. At nineteen, she’s one of the younger moderators although believes in going by experience over age. At first glance, HFO may seem opinionated and outspoken and that’s probably true but with that she’s also learned to accept that other people may have different views and appreciates that as long as it doesn’t have a strong negative effect. She’s always willing to help someone out, especially when it comes to the problems of younger transitioners or those more vain things in life like hair or beauty! If the situation is unfamiliar, she’ll try her best anyway!

Other than attending the 2006 Glasgow pride, HFO is very quiet on the LGBT front, preferring to help the odd person on a one to one basis instead of open campaigning. She felt that the march was an experience and she met loads of great people but it wasn’t really her thing.

As far as the future goes, she’s just enjoying every minute as it comes. She has discovered the boring ways of everyday life as a teenager in the final years of getting away with being lazy, generally having fun and catching up with the relationship side of things she missed pre-transition. Next on the cards? Fulltime extending to work and not just the other 90% of life, losing that last stone that she doesn’t actually need to lose, possibly another adventure in higher education and trying to find a boyfriend she doesn’t want to dump after a week as per usual!

Skyler - Canada

Skyler is a Canadian FTM currently studying computer science at university. He wants to change the world...but probably won't.

After years of attempting to avoid life, he is now able to embrace it. He's been lucky to have a mostly supportive family. His mother has been especially understanding, so he tries to be patient when she slips into old habits regarding names and pronouns.

He is much happier existing as a male, and is thankful for any people and resources that have helped him and continue to do so. Now he wants to reciprocate, and try to help anyone he can.
