I Need Expert Help Immediately!!! - Help
I can Trust!!!!
Almost all transgender people doubt themselves and can suffer low self esteem
and moments of panic — or days of stress or even weeks! It could be your
partner or child has told you that they dress in clothes usually attributed to
the opposite sex or want to change sex!
The important thing
is to remember the ABC
of transcontrol
A
- Address your needs - Hiding away may seem
ok but you need to feel valued and this may mean taking a step towards
discussing your fears or meeting with others - either online or at a safe venue.
B
- Build Your Confidence - The only way is
up! When you realise just how many people are in the same situation as you you
may feel reassured that you, your partner or child are not freaks!
There are millions in the same position as you and its likely that only 15% will
ever have the courage to come out - so feeling isolated is common, but there is
help!. Meeting others, sharing experiences and unwinding with people that
have similar interests well lighten your load!
C
- Coming out! - In an ideal
world this shouldn't be needed, but if you decide to come out to your partner
you will need support as will your partner. However, if your partner does
accept it and is prepared to accompany you to events it will open a whole new
exciting fun world for you both. If your partner has difficulties coming to
terms with it they may want to speak to other partners and wives of WOBS on the
phone. If you are young yourself (under 18) or you are a concerned parent you
can of course contact Mermaids (see below),
